MAIR REES-DAVIES ARCM RCM DIP OPERA DIP MUS ST.CECILIA ROME


A native of Tywyn Gwynedd Mair is the Artistic Manager of London Theatrical Agency PRIMADONNAMUSIC ARTIST MANAGEMENT and Director of Music of PRIMADONNAMUSIC SINGING ACADEMY which was recently awarded BEST WEST LONDON MUSICAL THEATRE SCHOOL by West London University
Her career began at the ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC and the BENJAMIN BRITTEN INTERNATIONAL OPERA SCHOOL where she gained her A R C M Diploma in Performing/Teaching and Artist Diploma in Opera. While at the RCM Mair was awarded the Dorothy Silk Clara Butt and London Society Prize. She also sang the role of the mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors in the presence of the composer Gian Carlo Menotti Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the late Queen Mother.
This was followed with an award of a two year ITALIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP to study at the CONSERVATORIO DI MUSICA ST.CECILIA ROME where she gained her Dip Mus. in Opera and Drama. She is fluent in ITALIAN as well as her native WELSH.
Her numerous TV appearances include Glan Hafren HTV A Mind to Kill (Phillip Madoc ) S4C Pobol y Cwm S4C Eastenders BBC1 Casualty BBC1 Killing Me Softly BBC1 FILM: The Citadel BBC Wales Directing Production and Camera with CYFLE Concerts throughout UK Europe and USA
She was also a member of the adjudicating panel at the prestigious Andrew O'neill Cabaret Awards and the Welsh Can You Sing Competition.
She has also featured in the popular Welsh S4C Programme CWPWRDD DILLAD/MY WARDROBE S4C. In May 2011 she participated in a BBC 1 DOCUMENTARY which will be shown in the Autumn. Early June 2011 she was interviewed by RADIO 101.4 ON FM /THE NEW SOUND OF LONDON about the launch of the new PRIMADONNAMUSIC West End Singing Academy which opens in 2012
Mair has been involved as Music Director with various LONDON CHARITY EVENTS performing alongside showbusiness celebrities : MICHELLE COLLINS (Cindy Beale Eastenders ) JULIAN FELLOWS ( ITV Downton Abbey) and Celebrity Chef BRIAN TURNER CBE raising money for Maggie's London Cancer Centre and The Anthony Nolan Trust. She will be one of the panel of Adjudicators in the Final of CARDIFF'S GOT TALENT in 2012
Past and present students of the SINGING ACADEMY have sung in West End Musicals English National Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Students also travel from WALES for vocal coaching at the Academy.
